Regeneration work and activities at North West Leicestershire District Council are the responsibility of the Economic Development Officer and Regeneration Officer.
The Economic Development Officer supports the development of the economy of North West Leicestershire, much of which lies within the National Forest, focussing on:
Development of local businesses
Creation of good quality jobs, training and skills development
Promotion of inward investment
Development of business support services
Working in partnership with East Midlands Development Agency, Leicester Shire Economic Development Partnership and other organisations
Provision of economic information and analysis
The Regeneration Officer is responsible for driving forward North West Leicestershire District Council's key priority of revitalising the town centres of Coalville and Ashby de la Zouch.
The role of the Regeneration Officer is to take forward the master planning exercises for both town centres and for other area regeneration, which involves:
Delivery and development of area-based regeneration strategies and action plans for the District's major towns, villages and other areas
Bidding for external funding to implement the town centre action plans
Promotion and development of town centre partnerships
Development, co-ordination and delivery of associated environmental improvement programmes
Co-ordination and development of the District's Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme in Ashby de la Zouch in association with English Heritage.
